Europa-Universitat Flensburg is located close to the German-Danish border and is the northernmost university in Germany. It is innovative and international, and offers programmes in many important fields of social and environmental policy. The cooperation with the University of Southern Denmark adds an intercultural flavour to the university's atmosphere and enriches the study options. Due to the compact campus and the small number of participants in the individual programmes, students and staff can interact closely.Unique in Germany, our modern campus site provides facilities which fulfil the highest technical and multimedia requirements. As part of this, the university campus with its landscaped surroundings, its student dining hall and the lecture theatre complex is generously equipped with Wi-Fi access. This means that wireless internet access is possible from every location within the university. The Europa-Universitat Flensburg also offers a wide range of attractive leisure and sports activities. There is a fitness centre fitted with state-of-the-art equipment. The courses on offer range from indoor cycling, aerobics, karate, aikido and taekwondo to water skiing, sailing and surfing. In a joint assessment exercise conducted across all German universities by the Centre for University Development (CHE) and "Stern" magazine, the sports courses offered on campus by the Europa-Universitat Flensburg were evaluated as "top quality".

Free-of-charge internet access

About the City: Flensburg is characterised by its waterside location. Situated close to the German-Danish border at the end of a beautiful fjord, this city of seafarers and traders is more than 700 years old. The campus is located about two kilometres from the city centre. Approximately one in ten residents of Flensburg is enrolled at the Europa-Universitat or at the University of Applied Sciences.

Arrival support: Orientation for new (exchange) students begins with an intensive German language course, which will be held in the first weeks of September at the Europa-Universitat Flensburg. During the orientation period in October, international students will also be given information on accreditation and other academic matters as well as on dealing with administrative matters (health insurance, residence permit, matriculation, etc.). There will be an introduction to the new university campus, the city of Flensburg and its surroundings.

Services and support for international students: The International "Study Buddy" Programme aims to encourage contact between international students and students in Flensburg. Every international student will be given the opportunity to interact with a (German) "buddy". The buddy, the International Office and the university staff support international students in all issues concerning their stay in Germany and Flensburg.
