International Mechatronics is a two-year Master's degree course. The first year of the course is taught at St Petersburg State Polytechnical University in Russia and the second year at Leibniz Universität Hannover in Germany. The language of teaching is English. The first year of the course concentrates on information engineering and mathematics. The second year concentrates on mechanical and electrical engineering, with the final semester devoted to the completion of a Master's degree project and thesis. Duration of Master's thesis: six months Upon successful completion of the course, each student will receive two degrees:
Master of Science in Mechatronics (MSc)
from Leibniz Universität Hannover
Master of Science in Information Science and Computer Engineering (MSc)
Participants spend the first and second semesters in St. Petersburg, the third and fourth semesters at Leibniz Universität Hannover.
No internship is required but may be useful.
Forms of assessment
Written or oral examination after each semester
The aim is to train students in the multidisciplinary field of mechatronics. Therefore, the study programme consists of about 25% basic skills (mathematics, physics), 25% electrically oriented skills, 25% mechanical skills, and 25% information technologies. Various laboratory projects and a voluntary internship provide the opportunity to apply theoretical knowledge.
Applicants must provide proof of their English skills.
The requirement for participation in the Master's course is a BSc in mechatronics, mechanical engineering or electrical engineering. All applicants for the Master's course must attend an entrance test (written examination and selection interview).
Unless otherwise noted by the faculty, on enrolment, students have to pay approx. 370 EUR as an administrative fee including a semester ticket (public transport costs).
Scholarships are available for excellent students.
The International Office offers a variety of services and support for international students. It helps students in finding suitable accommodation, offers a pick-up service from the airport or railway station, provides newly arrived students with a "study buddy" and helps them deal with administrative issues. Moreover, it organises an orientation week at the beginning of each semester. http://www.international.uni-hannover.de/
The International Office, in cooperation with the "Studentenwerk" (Student Services), offers an accommodation service for all newly incoming international students and scholars. This free service can help you find a suitable room or apartment. In the case that you don't need your accommodation for a certain period of time, we can try to help you to rent out your room.
